Is your child struggling in school? I started my business after talking to local moms who say there is a need for private tutoring, and parent or student advocacy services in our community.
I am a career changer/former educator. My license expired a few years ago due to my career change to a family business owner. However, I earned my bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Michigan and a master's degree in educational leadership from FAU, so I understand a lot about kids! I was certified in K-6, Educational Leadership PK-12, and endorsed in English as a Second Language instruction and Gifted. I was also one class away from becoming endorsed in Reading when I changed paths. While working in schools, I served in the classroom as a teacher, curriculum coach, regional curriculum specialist, and assistant principal. I also worked after school as a private family tutor for 8 years and provided instruction in all grades/subjects as needed.
I would love to offer tutoring and parent advocacy services to help any of you experiencing challenges in helping your child succeed in school. You might be surprised at the wide variety of reasons that students can struggle in school, and not all of them strictly focus on academic gaps (although I can help in that area, too!).
I know school can be challenging and confusing—especially since COVID hit! In working with you and your child, my goal is to identify areas of need and address them in a prescriptive manner to help them get back on track as students. I can also be a resource for you and someone to talk to when you need solid academic advice. If their needs extend beyond my expertise, I can always make recommendations from there.
